Bathing Beauty

I live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and
Hurricane Irene is going by off shore.   No damage done
to us so far.   I will have to do some yard clean up when it is over.
The yard is littered with small branches and twigs.
It is still raining heavily and it is pretty windy.

When looking for images I found a lot of
Mack Sennett bathing beauties.  This was my favorite.
I thought it was perfect.
I should go beach combing when this is over.  I bet a lot
of goodies washed up on shore.

Enjoy using this photo in your art piece or just let it
inspire you when you create your own
Bathing Beauty.

To all of you in the storm's path, stay safe.

Lady in Waiting

The days are just flying  by.   And, I'm wondering if it
is ever going to cool down.
I just loved stopping by your blogs and seeing
all the different Mae West art.  I'm always amazed
at how each of you interpret a theme.
This week I have for you a
Lady in Waiting.
I recently read a book that was all about life at court.
I don't think that would be the life for me.

dressed as a Lady in Waiting of Empress Alexandra of Russia
The Lady in Waiting was an important member of the royal court and played an active role in participating with court entertainments, such as masques, dance and musical entertainment. The Ladies in Waiting were selected from high ranking and noble families.

You may use this image in your art work.
I hope you enjoy your visit to court this week.

Blonde Bombshells

Do blondes really have more fun?

I thought it might be fun to explore that question this week

My challenge inspiration for you this week is

"Mae West was an American actress, playwright, screenwriter and sex symbol. Before Marilyn and before Madonna, there was Mae West, Hollywood's first superstar sex symbol and the original blonde bombshell.

A performer since childhood, she wrote her own comedic material and built up an act made up of open sexuality and clever double entendres."

You are free to use this photo or something of your own for
this Blonde Bombshells challenge.

Enjoy

Back to the 60s

Thank you everyone for your beautiful artwork for the
Veiled challenge.
As I was wandering the web I
found this photo that brought back so many fun memories
for me.  At this time I was living in LA.  The hippies were just
making their presence known.
The beginning of the movement was an interesting
time.   I always wanted one of these.  I never did get one but drove
a VW bug for years.   I still have so much of the music from
that time.   Uhm, now where did I put my Janis Joplin album?

I hope this photo and my 60s theme inspires you this week.
This VW bus needs the creative touch.

I'll be around to visit everyone.
